Bites Nearby: Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant
Enjoy the guacamole and the mariachi band at this Briarcliff Manor restaurant.

When my family and I were in the mood for Mexican over the weekend, we crossed the border (The Ossining/Briarcliff Manor border, that is) to in Briarcliff. After chowing down on their authentic Mexican cuisine, I rank this award-winning restaurant as one of the best Mexican restaurants to have a bite nearby.
Here are the top six reasons you might like it there:
- The Guacamole – It’s prepared tableside by a waiter who will ask you: “One avocado or two? Spicy or non-spicy?”
- The Mariachi Band – Speaking of tableside, a mariachi band goes from table to table on the weekends and even takes requests. (It was my daughter’s birthday, so she was treated to the Happy Birthday Song, mariachi-style.)
- The Cozy Atmosphere – The dining room was comfortable and the waiters were friendly. It seemed even the patrons were all smiles.
- The Affordable Prices – Overall, the food was well-priced. Several entrées were priced under $20.
- The Delicious Food – The food was delish, with just the right amount of flair to make it memorable.
- The Margaritas – Whether you like it frozen or on the rocks, with or without salt, you'll appreciate the variety of margarita flavors offered—including traditional, strawberry and mango—each with a generous portion of tequila.
The restaurant, which is open daily, serves lunch and dinner. There's also a kids' menu that includes burgers and fries.
