Color me beautiful! Make-up 101 with master make-up artist Danny DiMello
Makeup 101 with celebrated makeup artist Danny Di Mella.

Working at the Richard Scott Salon and Day Spa has it's advantages. My personal makeup artist is none other than Mr. Danny Di Mella, director of Kiki Boutique. Be it black tie or everyday ware, he's my man. What I love most is his gentle application.

Q. Many women today don't have the time to apply makeup. Give me a quick 15 minute face.
A. Cleanse face and moisturize with an SPF15. The most important step is to prime the face.
Q. Why use a primer?
A. It will lock in the moisture in your face and not clog your pores. Allows for smoother and longer lasting ware.
2. Concealer under eyes and any imperfection that appear on your face.
Q. How do you you chose the perfect color concealer?
A. It should be one to two shades lighter than your complexion.
Q. How do you apply the concealer without looking like a ghost?
A. Don't be scared if you look a little paler. What you're doing is creating a blank canvas to prepare the face for a tinted moisturizer or foundation.
Q. When applying tinted moisturizer or foundation, is there a specific tool to use?
A. Throw out your sponges and invest in a fabulous synthetic foundation brush. This will allow the product to glide on the face more smoothly.
Q. What type of motion is required for even application?
A. A firm swipe motion up and across the face. This will create the blood flow to your skin surface which allows the product to adhere to your face. Blend, Blend and blend some more (key to flawless looking skin).
3. Bronzer. Never apply to entire face. Start by taking your bronzer brush and go to the corner of your eye by the ear. Now go directly down from under your eye and touch the brush to your face below nostril above top lip. From that point swipe diagonally upward to top of your ear. Blend outer edges to rest of face.
4. Eyeliner. Apply directly on lash line and blend.
5. Lips. You can use a nude lip liner with gloss or apply your favorite shade of lipstick.
And there you have it. Quick and simple, yet oh so beautiful. Now you're ready to set the world on fire.
