Briarcliff FD Re-Elects Officers, Plans Open House
Find out what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter this Saturday in Briarcliff Manor.
The is preparing to kick off a year-long effort to recruit more volunteer members on Saturday.
Saturday's 12 to 4 p.m. open house is part of the statewide RecruitNY program that encourages residents to volunteer in the emergency services.
“This is a great opportunity for our neighbors to observe the exciting tasks of a firefighter. Our current members love what they do; they are everyday heroes who help neighbors in need," said Fire Chief Michael King in a statement. "We hope our recruitment day will inspire other area residents to join our fire service family.”

King was re-elected as chief of the department on April 5. Robert O'Hanlon was re-elected as first assistant chief and Dennis Reilly is again the department's second assistant chief. The village's board of trustees will officially approve them—as well as the other companies' officers—at tonight's 7:30 p.m. meeting.

Additionally, Douglas Cacciola, Martin Gallagher, Carl LaBruzzo, William Ventura, Jay White, Tom Farrington and Larry Reilly will all be appointed to the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department Deputy Chiefs Association tonight.
Saturday's event will include tours of the fire headquarters and apparatus. Visitors will also have the opportunity to try on fire gear and attend demonstrations. Fire department members will be on-hand to answer questions.
