Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Firecrackers in Mailboxes; Gas Pump Damaged

The following is from the police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from Aug. 6 — 12, 2012.

Sunday, Aug. 12

7:16 p.m. — A Hemlock Road resident reported finding dog feces in the driveway. The complaint reported having ongoing an ongoing dispute with a neighbor who may have been responsible for the incident. Police filed a report.

Saturday, Aug. 11

4:16 a.m. — A Briarcliff Motor Fuel employee called police and reported a vehicle backed out of a parking space and struck a gas pump at the station, causing some damage. The employee was unable to provide the vehicle's license plate number. Police canvassed the scene and were not able to locate the vehicle.

Friday, Aug. 10

7:33 p.m. — A Thornwood resident called police and reported he had not heard from his sister, a Briarcliff Manor resident, in two days. Police responded to the woman's home and found she was OK.

7:15 a.m. — A Hirst Road resident reported finding a mailbox and post on the lawn. Police responded to the scene and found the mailbox belonged to a Sleepy Hollow Road resident. The items were returned to their owner.

Thursday, Aug. 9

7:18 p.m. — ' office manager called police to report an unusual incident. The manager reported receiving a call from a person who requested repairs and offered credit card information up front. The manager found the offer suspicious and ended the call. Police filed a report of the incident.

7:31 a.m. — Police received a report of dispute between two people at the Scarborough Metro North train station. The argument was resolved by the time responding officers arrived at the scene.

Wednesday, Aug. 8

8:23 p.m. — A Central Drive resident reported discovering firecrackers in his mailbox. The mailbox was not damaged.

1:14 p.m. — Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Route 9A involving three vehicles. Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

7:30 p.m. — A motor vehicle accident was reported on Route 9A. Police responded to the scene, where one party complained of injuries. The party was taken to the hospital.

2:55 p.m. — A Lodge Road resident reported that while on vacation, an unknown person had placed firecrackers in the home's mailbox. Police filed a report of the alleged criminal mischief.

Monday, Aug. 6

11:47 a.m. — Police responded to the scene of a minor two-car accident on Pleasantville Road. The two drivers involved in the rear-end collision reported some property damage.
