Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Fireworks; Barking Dog

The following is from the police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Briarcliff Manor Police Department from Oct. 15 to 21, 2012.

Saturday, Oct. 20

8:56 p.m. — Police were notified of gunshots possibly being fired on Pocantico Street in Ossining. The Village of Ossining Police responded to the location and learned someone was setting off fireworks.

1:12 a.m. — A woman called police to report an incident on South Highland Avenue. She told police she wasn't feeling well and was having an argument with a friend. Police responded and another party told officers the woman was drunk and he did not want her to drink and drive. 

Thursday, Oct. 18

11:02 a.m. — Police received a noise complaint from a Pleasantville Road resident. Police learned the noise was caused by DPW work in the area.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

9:58 p.m. — A North State Road resident contacted police and stated she had received an email from her bank reporting two transactions on her debit card had been declined. The woman stated the two transactions were for $431.32 and $151.41 at Wal Mart. The woman told police a friend had been at her house prior to the incident and admitted she had taken the card, but that it had been a mix up. The incident was reported for the record.

10:40 a.m. — Police received a complaint from a Dogwood Lane resident reporting a neighbor's dog barking. At the scene, police said they could not hear the dog until they walked onto the person's property. No one answered the door at the residence, but the door was unlocked. Police confirmed all was in order at the home and notified the resident that the home was unlocked.
