Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Mailbox Mischief; Car Egged

The following is from the police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from May 21 — 27, 2012.

Friday, May 25

6:02 p.m. — The detective was referred a case from the Ossining Police Department regarding an alleged ongoing larceny involving  bank in Briarcliff Manor. The case is under investigation.

2:54 p.m. — A Scarborough Road resident reported she was arguing with her son because he refused to turn down the air conditioner.

2:12 p.m. — An employee of an Old Route 100 business reported personnel files were missing from the office. The incident was reported for the record.

Tuesday, May 22

2:20 p.m. — A resident called police and reported that when she was attempting to cross a village intersection at a crosswalk, a vehicle failed to yield. The woman said that the vehicle that did not yield came back around and the driver asked her what she was doing in Briarcliff Manor. She identified the driver as a former postmaster. The incident was reported for the record.

2:04 p.m. — A woman called police and reported she was suffering from back pain after being involved in a motor vehicle accident. Police responded to the scene on Pleasantville Road, where there had been a two-car accident. The two drivers stated one vehicle had been stopped in traffic and another backed into the first vehicle. One vehicle had damage to the rear driver's side and the other had damage to passenger's side. The caller refused medical attention at the scene.

Monday, May 21

4:06 p.m. — A Horsechestnut Road resident reported someone had removed her black metal mailbox and its post overnight.

1:45 p.m. — A Shuman Court resident reported a missing cell phone.

10:20 a.m. — A South State Road resident called police to report she is following up on a complaint . She stated she is in the process of obtaining information about her neighbor's landscaper, who allegedly removed plants from her property without permission.

7:24 a.m. — A Lodge Road resident reported that overnight, someone had ripped her mailbox post and box from the ground and discarded it down the street. She stated her car had also been egged and it was the third occurrence of vandalism recently.
