Briarcliff Manor Police Blotter: Teen Driver Hits Playground; Rock Shatters Car Sunroof

Sunday, April 29

1:19 p.m. — A Farm Road resident reported she had received strange recorded voicemails on multiple occasions.

Saturday, April 28

6:40 p.m. — A Brewster resident reported while driving on Route 100, someone in the wooded area threw a rock at the vehicle, shattering the sunroof. Police responded to the scene, but did not find anyone in the area.

6:15 p.m. — A River Road resident reported the home's chandelier had caught fire, but was extinguished. The responded to the scene to ensure the home was secure.

11:10 a.m. — Police reported damage to the playground, caused by a teenager who was learning to drive.

8:35 a.m. — A small brush fire was reported at the entrance to . Police reported the fire was caused by a downed power line. Con Edison was called to the scene, where the power line was cut. Fire responders extinguished the fire.

Friday, April 27

8:13 p.m. — A Scarborough Road resident called police and reported hearing screaming coming from a vehicle. Police responded to the scene and spoke with the vehicle's driver, who was lost.

1:26 p.m. — A resident reported finding a cast iron mailbox on his front lawn. He turned it into police.

Thursday, April 26

8:26 a.m. — An Aspinwalll Road resident reported a sick raccoon. Police reported destroying the animal with the help of Ossining Animal Control.

12:30 a.m. — Police arrested a female driver on Route 9 for allegedly operating a vehicle with a suspended driver's license and car registration.

Wednesday, April 25

10:34 a.m. — A resident reported a suspicious vehicle idling in front of a bank with two males inside. Police reported the vehicle was gone once they arrived at the scene.

Monday, April 23

4:00 p.m. — A Resident reported losing a diamond ring in the village sometime between the beginning of January to the end of February. She said she did not know exactly where the ring was lost. Police filed a report.

10:56 a.m. — A Norwalk, CT, driver reported being rear-ended on Pleasantville Road. He stated the other driver fled the scene, but he did not wish to file an accident report.
