First time ever: BHS Cheerleaders Head to Nationals
The National High School Cheerleading Championship is in Orlando Florida on February 10 and 11.

The cheerleading team's success started in August when they took home the Game Day Championship from Pine Forest Cheerleading Camp. Then at the regional competition in the Poconos this winter, the team was awarded a qualifying bid to The National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) on February 10 and 11.
Head coach Stephanie Georgioudakis said, "The team is excited to make history and further their success this year at Nationals in February for the first time ever competing along-side the other highly ranked and qualified teams in the Nation. Our routine is three minutes long and is comprised of different skills sets including cheers, stunting, and dancing performed in sequence."
NHSCC is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. The NHSCC is held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year. The Championship is also streamed live on Varsity TV on Varsity.com.

“In previous years the cheerleading team competed locally. This is the first time the cheerleading program has qualified for the national high school cheerleading championship,” Coach Georgioudakis continued. The team went to a qualifying event based on their performance at UCA camp this summer. There, they won the small varsity session 11 championship for a game day performance. They received 1st place overall, 1st place for their sideline and 2nd place for their cheer aspect of the routine performed. Due to this success and hoping it would yield a qualifying bid to NHSCC, the team decided to compete at a qualifying event and it did!”
The team includes: Seniors: Frankie Paone (Captain), Rebeka Walker (Captain), Lindsey Heier (Captain), Valentina Ramirez. Juniors: Tabitha Birch, Danielle Jacoby, Katherine Olson.
