OPPORTUNITY FOR EXPERIENCED CHORAL SINGERS: Beethoven’s 9th and More

Choral singers who have wanted to see what it’s like to be part of an opera chorus now have a chance for a whole different experience!Taconic Opera begins its celebration of Beethoven’s 250^th birthday this 2026-2027 season by presenting his famous Ninth Symphony (Ode to Joy) with Taconic Opera soloists, chorus and orchestra conducted by Maestro Jun Nakabayashi. In addition to this masterwork, the chorus will also perform the devilishly fast Witches' Sabbath chorus from Boito's famous opera, Mefistofele.

No membership fees are required, but singers must acquire their own scores.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE – STARTING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2026

Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00pm every Wed. until dress rehearsal

Saturdays, 3:00-5:00pm every Sat. until dress rehearsal

Because of the short rehearsal cycle, it will be necessary to have full attendance at all rehearsals.Singer who would miss more than 2 rehearsals may lack sufficient time to learn the program unless they have already performed the pieces.The Witches Sabbath chorus is performed in Italian and will require memorization.
