Ossining Town Police Blotter: Suspicious Movers; Teen Parkers

The following information was supplied by police. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety in the Town of Ossining from Dec. 10 — 16, 2012.

Saturday, Dec. 15

 12:09 p.m. — Westchester County Police responded to a report of suspicious activity involving two trucks parked on Cedar Lane. An officer determined that two moving company trucks had stopped there so employees could rearrange some items that they were transporting.

Friday, Dec. 14

10:17 p.m. — Westchester County Police received a report of two suspicious vehicles in a parking lot of St. Paul’s on the Hill Episcopal Church on Ganung Drive. A teenager found in one of the vehicles told officers that three others had run off when they saw police approaching. The teenager and the vehicle he was in were released to the teen’s father. The other vehicle was impounded and towed from the property.

3:53 p.m. — Westchester County police found a loose dog in the vicinity of Stormytown Road and Reeback Drive and returned the animal to its owner on White Birch Drive.

2:51 p.m. — A man walking on Somerstown Road contacted Westchester County Police after he observed that the front door of a home was ajar. The man said he had called out from the road but no one inside answered. An officer located the homeowner in the back yard and determined nothing was amiss at the residence.

Thursday, Dec. 14

9:36 p.m. — Westchester County Police went to the home of an elderly woman on Nicole Circle after her daughter was unable to reach the woman by phone. The woman did not answer the door so an officer entered through a window. The woman was found alert and in apparent good health, but an ambulance was called as a precaution.
