Counselors, psychologists, teachers and orientation leaders at Pleasantville High School say listening, giving kids space, and using school-based support can ease both academic and emotional transitions for local students.
   

• September 11th Memorial Event & Monarch Butterfly Release (yonkerstimes.com) — A 9/11 memorial and monarch butterfly release is planned at Rockefeller State Park Preserve in Pleasantville on Friday, Sept. 11, from noon to 1 p.m. The free event will share the story behind the park's Japanese tree peony memorial and close with a symbolic butterfly release, with only a $6 parking fee for attendees.
