Pleasantville Court: Counterfeiting Defendants Take Plea

Counterfeiting Cases Resolved
Two defendants involved in related counterfeiting cases pled guilty to misdemeanors on Tuesday.

Mount Kisco resident Steven Gallo, 53, and charged with Possession of a Forgery Instrument in the First Degree and Possession of a Forgery Device, both felonies. He is accused of counterfeiting U.S. currency.
Donna Jensen, of Thornwood, was arrested the following day and charged with Possession of Forgery Instrument in the First Degree, after allegedly attempting to use forged currency at a Pleasantville business.

Gallo pled guilty to two reduced charges—Criminial Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor.
Jenson, 40, pled guilty to one count of the same charge. Assistant District Attorney Diana Hedayati said Jenson's plea would also cover a felony charge in Town of Mount Pleasant Court.
Hedayati said her office recommends a sentence of three years of probation for both defendants, as well as a $1,000 fine.
Gallo also agreed to forfeit the items seized from his home by the Mount Pleasant Police Department in the case.
Both cases were adjourned to September 18, pending a pre-sentence report.
Grand Larceny Defendant to Mull Offer
Kristie Lunapiena, 22, and , a felony, as well as Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, a misdemeanor.
Hedyati offered Lunapiena, a Hawthorne resident, a chance to plead guilty to a single misdemeanor charge.
Lunapiena's Legal Aid Society attorney asked for a two week adjournment. The case was adjourned to June 26.
