Pleasantville Police Blotter: Gas Station Larceny; Alleged Racism Incident

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Pleasantville Police Department from Feb. 6 — 12, 2012:
Sunday, Feb. 12
10:44 a.m. — A Virginia Place resident dialed 911 and told police she heard yelling coming from an adjacent apartment. Police spoke with the neighbor, who said she was alone in the residence and had stepped on a sharp object, causing her to yell in pain and frustration. She declined medical attention.

Saturday, Feb. 11
7:10 p.m. — A woman came into headquarters and reported an unknown man had just left her residence after indicating her husband may owe him money. The woman told the man her husband is in Westchester County jail. She reported the man left without further incident and was pleasant, but asked the incident be reported for the record.

8:36 a.m. — Police arrested a 60-year-old man for harassment at a Clinton Avenue address.
Thursday, Feb. 9
3:58 p.m. — Police received a call from a Century gas station employee who reported a party had filled his car up with $65 worth of gas and then handed over a $50 MasterCard gift card to pay for the purchase. The caller said the driver stated he would pay the difference after the employee ran the gift card inside. The employee said when he went inside, the car fled the scene, heading south on Bedford Road. Mount Pleasant Police were advised of the incident. Police reported there were no security cameras on premise and the signature on the gift card was illegible.
Tuesday, Feb. 7
5:21 p.m. — A resident came into police headquarters and reported an incident at a local dry cleaners. He stated he asked an employee at the shop about several missing buttons on three recently-laundered shirts and the employee became aggressive and belligerent. The complainant said the employee got in his face and attempted to intimidate him. The man told police said the employee may have been racist against Asians and asked the incident be reported for the record, in case others were treated similarly.
Monday, Feb. 6
8:46 p.m. — A Sarles Lane resident called police and reported she had extinguished a dryer fire, but was still concerned. Police notified Westchester County Fire Control and the Pleasantville Fire Department responded to the home. Police later reported the scene was safe.
