Pleasantville Police Blotter: Lawnmower Damages Car; Vehicle Keyed

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the from Aug. 20 — 26, 2012:
Sunday, Aug. 26
9:06 a.m. — A resident came into police headquarters and reported he was receiving unwanted calls and texts from a woman who "is looking for a relationship with him." He stated that he is engaged and told her to stop contacting him, but she has continued. He said he did not want to file criminal charges. The incident was reported for the record and police contacted the White Plains woman and advised her to cease contact or possibly face harassment charges in the future.

Friday, Aug. 24
2:53 p.m. — A Leland Avenue resident called police and reported a man had hit her car while it was parked in the driveway with a riding lawnmower. Police responded to the scene and spoke with the man, who said the lawnmower had malfunctioned as he was driving, cause it to lock into a right turn. He said he was unable to break and hit the car as a result. He provided the car's owner with his company's insurance. The vehicle's owner said he estimated the damage to his vehicle was approximately $2,000. He also noted part of his driveway was damaged from the lawnmower.

11:58 a.m. — Police stopped a vehicle on Bedford Road at the intersection of Marble Avenue and arrested the driver for allegedly driving with a suspended license. Police records indicate his license was suspended after he failed to answer a summons.
Wednesday, Aug. 22
12:55 p.m. — A North Salem resident flagged down a police officer and stated his car had been keyed while parked on Washington Avenue, sometime between 1:45 and 12:45 p.m. Police observed long, wavy scratches on the vehicle.
Tuesday, Aug. 21
8:10 a.m. — A police sergeant reported noticing a village street sign and post damaged in the Wheeler Avenue parking lot. Police also noticed a car in the parking lot with damage consistent with hitting the sign and left a note on the windshield. Two hours later, a man called police and said his daughter had hit the sign. The driver, a 20-year-old Pleasantville woman, came into police headquarters and told police she hit the sign while attempting to park in the lot. Police estimated the sign is worth $75.
Monday, Aug. 20
5:38 p.m. — A White Plains resident came into police headquarters and reported had been stolen in the village. She stated someone had also used her credit card. Police filed a report.
