Pleasantville Police Blotter: Parked Car Damaged; Loud Group

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the Pleasantville Police Department from Sept. 10 — 16, 2012:

Sunday, Sept. 16

1:27 p.m. — A Manhattan resident reported that while he was parked in the Jean Jacques parking lot, someone had damaged his rental van's steering column and ignition switch—approximately $50 in damage. He said he believes someone attempted to steal the van.

Saturday, Sept. 15

3:36 p.m. — Police received multiple calls reporting a man attacking a woman at the Pleasantville Metro North station. Read more about the incident here. The man was later arrested by Metro North police and appeared in court on Tuesday.

9:22 a.m. — A Marble Avenue business employee called police to report a possible smoke condition. 60 Control was notified.

Friday, Sept. 14

2:38 p.m. — A woman called police and said she had seen a female teenager looking into locked vehicles on Brentwood Drive the day prior. Police advised her to call back if and when she observes suspicious behavior in the future.

2:25 a.m. — A man called police and reported observing a loud group on Hobby Street. Police were unable to locate the group.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

2:16 p.m. — A Stanley Street resident called 911 and said a carbon monoxide alarm was activated in her home. The Pleasantville Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to investigate.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

3:18 p.m. — Police responded to Key Food Marketplace and arrested one person for allegedly attempting to shoplift multiple items. Read more here.
