Pleasantville Home Evacuated After Generator Scare
The Pleasantville Fire Department just responded to a Manville Road home.
A Manville Road family has been evacuated after a carbon monoxide alarm was activated, said Pleasantville Fire Department Chief Bruce LaMonica.
Fire department volunteers are currently setting up flares on the mostly-dark street as trucks respond to 156 Manville Rd., located adjacent to Bedford Road School and the Academy Street intersection.
According to LaMonica, the generator was "too close to the garage door" and caused high levels of carbon monoxide in the residence.

He said department members will remain on scene on until the levels return to normal.
This is the only generator-related incident the department has responded to following the mass power outages brought on by Hurricane Sandy earlier this week.

No one required medical attention at the scene.
"We have been pretty lucky," LaMonica said.
