Police: Shoplifting Arrests in Briarcliff, Pleasantville

The following is from the Briarcliff and Pleasantville PDs. It does not indicate convictions.

On Tuesday, the reported receiving a call from a employee, who stated the store had detained a shoplifter.

According to police records, a 39-year-old Thornwood woman was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny.

She allegedly attempted to take from the store: two tubes of Scott toilet paper, four rolls of Cottenelle toilet paper, one package of Thomas bagels, one package of Playtex rubber gloves, one bottle of Cascade dish-washing soap, one Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffle, one package of Solo cups and one package of Cascade Complete—an amount totaling approximately $40.

When police arrived at the scene, employees said two suspects had left the scene in a vehicle. They provided police with a license plate number.

Police tracked down the car and arrested two women—ages 25 and 20—of Yonkers.
