Town of Ossining Police Blotter: Wandering Pit Bull; Car Seat Trouble

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  in the Town of Ossining from Feb. 13 — 19, 2012.

Sunday, Feb. 19

10:23 a.m. — Westchester County Police responded to Locust Road on a complaint of loud noise coming from the yard of a group home on the street. Officers spoke with staff member who said a severely autistic resident of the home sometimes becomes very loud and staff members bring him inside when it occurs.

Saturday, Feb. 18

12:02 p.m. — A town resident who was having difficulty installing a child’s car seat was assisted with the installation by a Westchester County Police officer at the Ossining Command facility on North State Road.

2:46 a.m. — Westchester County Police assisted an elderly woman who fell and injured her leg at a nursing facility on Stormytown Road. The Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded and transported the woman to .

Thursday, Feb. 16

8:52 p.m. — Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Knollwood Road on a report of a loud dispute in the front yard between a resident and a former tenant. The argument was over a dog that the former tenant had left behind when she moved out.

6:39 a.m. —  received a report that a deer had been struck by a car at the Fox Run condominiums off Hawkes Avenue. An officer responded but was unable to locate the animal.

Wednesday, Feb. 15

6:05 p.m. — Westchester County Police investigated a complaint from a homeowner on Gualtiere Lane that a pit bull from a nearby home had entered his yard and confronted his dog. An officer went to the neighbor’s home who said he had let his dog out but didn’t realize it had left his property. The neighbor was given a warning and advised that the town law required that dogs be walked on a leash.
