Police said the teen was driving her father’s Chevrolet Suburban on Aug. 30 when she lost control on Goosepond Road in Paupack Township, Wayne County. Cullen Keffer, Shamus Digney and Ryan Lesher, all incoming sophomores, were killed in the one-car accident.

Ware, who owns a summer home near the accident, initially lied to police about giving his daughter permission to drive the car, the Journal News reported. The publication reported that authorities learned Ware allowed his daughter to drive his car numerous times before the accident.
