Local E-Biz Goes Brick and Mortar for Holidays

Rye Brook-based In-Things, which specializes in handmade fashion, has opened up a pop-up store for the holiday season.

Every once in a while, some heartening economic news pops up amid the gloom of the recession. This time, the good news is extremely local.

Local retailer SAACHI by In-Things, normally an e-commerce shop based out of a Rye Brook office, has opened up a satellite office in Greenwich through the end of December.

This pop-up store is the sole storefront for displaying a unique, handmade line of fashion accessories by the online small business.

The fashion accessory pieces, according to marking manager Paulina Flores, “embody true Indian artisanship with a modern edge.”

Pieces in magazines and television, including the Oprah show. The Greenwich storefront features everything available on the website including the most popular item: the marquis bracelet.

“It is the fact that every piece is not like the other, designed and made individually, makes each one special,” she said.

Currently an e-commerce business based out of Rye Brook, Flores is currently considering opening a permanent physical storefront.

“The owner had a chance to open in Greenwich so we took the opportunity,” she said. “If you can reach a potential client base, then why not?”

Open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the pop-up store is located at 19A Putnam Ave. in Greenwich through the end of the month.
