Family Services of Westchester's Star Gala Will Celebrate Distinguished Westchester Honorees on Wednesday, April 22, 2015
Family Services of Westchester's 2015 Star Gala

Port Chester, NY--Family Services of Westchester will hold its Star Gala on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle. The Star Gala is both FSW’s premiere annual fundraising event as well as an opportunity to recognize and publicly thank the agency’s top supporters, volunteers and corporate partners. The event this year will honor Eastchester residents Sybil and Les Rosenberg with the Star Philanthropist Award, New Rochelle resident and Founder/Director of FSW’s The Sharing Shelf Deborah Blatt with the Star Volunteer Award, and TD Bank with the Corporate Philanthropy Award. Christa Lauri, Anchor of Verizon FIOS 1 News, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to celebrate the contributions of this year’s honorees, all of whom are deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of Westchester County residents,” says Susan B. Wayne, FSW President and CEO. “The Star Gala allows us to share with the larger community our gratitude for those who make it possible for us to achieve our mission of strengthening and supporting families.”
Sybil and Les Rosenberg are generous donors who are deeply committed to helping those who are less fortunate. Their support for FSW over the past several years, particularly their generosity toward The Lanza Family Center for All Ages, FSW’s new intergenerational program in White Plains, has been heartfelt and meaningful. With their lifetime commitment to charity and volunteerism, The Rosenbergs are true role models and deserving recipients of the 2015 Star Philanthropy Award.
TD Bank has been a strong community partner to FSW for many years with a steadfast belief in the agency’s mission. Their commitment to FSW, most recently their support for the Technology Learning Center, and to the Westchester non-profit community as a whole is exemplary, rendering them the ideal recipient of the 2015 Corporate Citizenship Award.

Deborah Blatt, Founder and Director of FSW’s Sharing Shelf, which collects new and gently-used children’s clothing and other items and distributes them to families in need, is a passionate and tireless volunteer. She is involved in every aspect of program operations—from sorting clothing, to engaging volunteers, to cultivating donors, to developing new partnerships. Since Deborah donates every moment of her time to The Sharing Shelf, she is the clear and outstanding choice to receive the 2015 Star Volunteer Award.
FSW is expecting over 300 guests to attend the gala. The festivities will begin with a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by dinner, live auction and the awards presentations.
