Her work at Young Invincibles involves engaging young adults on issues such as health care, higher education and jobs. Young Invincibles began in the summer of 2009 when co-founders Ari Matusiak and Aaron Smith, realized that young people’s voices were not being heard in the debate over health care reform. Since that time Young Invincibles has expanded nationwide and represents the interests of 18-34 year olds through conducting cutting-edge policy research and analysis, sharing stories of young adults burdened by today’s tough economy, and mobilizing young adults to join issue-based campaigns to boost economic opportunities for the Millennial generation.
Ms. Diaz also works on the campaign Black and Brown People Vote (BlackandBrownPeopleVote.org), an initiative to empower people of color to register, vote and remain politically active locally, statewide, and nationally. Using the principles of education, engagement and empowerment, the grassroots campaign goal is to get one million young voters of color to the polls during the 2014 midterm elections.

The public is welcome. Organizations working with the Spanish speaking population or organizations that would like to develop more effective outreach are encouraged to attend.
