Big Fish: Striped Bass From the Middle Grounds

Port Jefferson resident Ken Coombs caught himself a nice striped bass from the middle grounds over the weekend. Candy from snapped a shot of Coombs proudly holding up his 21 1/2 pound striper.

According to Candy he caught the big fish on fresh bunker.

Coombs' fish proves to anglers that the big bass are out there if you can get them but it's not that easy as the water warms up. shows that to get the bass now you might want to go to deeper water using fresh bunker chunks in the evening.
