Man Killed in Port Jefferson Station Motorcycle Crash

The accident occurred Sunday night, police say.

A 36-year-old Sound Beach man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Port Jefferson Station Sunday night.

According to police, Christopher Danielsen was riding his 2006 Kawasaki southwest on Jefferson Avenue at 11:34 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a left-hand turn onto Route 112.

The motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into numerous parked vehicles at Diamond Auto Body and Glass, located at 1444 Route 112, police said.

Danielsen was transported via a Terryville Fire Department ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crash to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.

The crash was the second fatal motorcycle accident on Long Island Sunday. A Nassau County woman died after a the motorcycle she was riding on collided with an SUV in Northport Sunday evening, police said.
