Medical Emergency Causes Crash in Mount Sinai
A male sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries after crashing into wooded area Monday.
A Ridge man was seriously injured after suffering an apparent medical emergency and crashing his car in Mount Sinai Monday afternoon, police said.
Police say the 61-year-old man was driving a 2014 Hyundai westbound on Route 347 when his car crashed into the center median and then into trees near Hallock Avenue at about 2:35 p.m. The man was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Suffolk County Police along with the Mount Sinai Fire Department and Port Jefferson Ambulance Corps responded to the crash. Sixth Squad detectives are investigating the crash.
