UPDATE: Police Release Details on Port Jefferson Station Bank Robbery
A bank in Sayville was also robbed on Sunday.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY - Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Port Jefferson Station on Sunday afternoon, less than two hours after a bank in Sayville was robbed.
According to police, a man entered the TD Bank located at 86 Nesconset Highway, at the corner of Old Town Road, at 1:31 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied with the demand and the man fled eastbound on Nesconset Highway in a light-colored, possibly silver, car.
The robber, who had the lower half of his face covered with a multi-colored scarf, was described as white. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and black gloves.

That description is similar to the description of the Sayville bank robber, but police said they are still investigating to determine if the robberies are related.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on either robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
