The Earl L. Vandermeulen High School Class of 2022 are already working to make a difference in the community this school year. When they found out that organizers of the local non-profit Give Kids Hope were looking for Halloween donations, they set out to help. With 150 Halloween bags filled with special treats, their mission was accomplished. The goodies will be distributed to children living in a local shelter. “Our students were excited to be a part of this opportunity for children right here in Suffolk County,” said teacher Christina Carlson, who co-advises the group along with teacher Melissa Zinger. “Being able to actually work together to organize the goodie bags really gave them an added sense of the purpose of community giving. They were so happy to be a part of making Halloween special for the children.”
