Port Jeff Students Raise the Curtains and Funds for Charity
Dance routines, songs, violin and ukulele performances were part of the entertaining Port Jefferson Middle School 12th annual talent show.

From the Port Jefferson School District: Dance routines, songs, violin and ukulele performances, and a piano sonata written by one student’s mother were part of the entertaining Port Jefferson Middle School 12th annual talent show on March 2.
Dozens of students participated either as performers or part of the stage crew to the applause of the delighted audience. Student announcers Farzana Shakeri and Kiersten Parmegiani also gave a nod to Dr. Seuss’ birthday as they dressed as his beloved characters Thing 1 and Thing 2.
Under the direction of teacher Allison Giannusa, the event was also an opportunity to collect canned goods for local food pantries and raised $867 for Friends of Karen, an organization that assists families with a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
