Port Jefferson School Budget Vote, Trustee Election Results Are In

Port Jefferson residents headed to the polls Tuesday.

Port Jefferson residents gave the green light to a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.

The $41.4 million budget was approved by a margin of 353-55. The budget is a 2.35 percent spending decrease over the current year and it comes with a 0.47 percent hike in the school tax levy.

Incumbents Ellen Boehm and Kathleen Brennan were re-elected to three-year terms on the Port Jefferson Board of Education. They both ran unopposed.
