From Port Jefferson School District: Students, faculty and staff members of the Port Jefferson School District helped to honor veterans during their GI GO Fund Nationwide Dress Down Day on Nov. 8.

Coordinated by the middle school’s student council, the entire school community was encouraged to remember those who have served the country by wearing jeans and donating $5 to GI GO Fund’s Jeans for Troops program. The program provides assistance to military veterans by helping them find employment
and training, access housing, and secure their educational and health benefits. Students were also asked to donate $1 to their homeroom teachers at the middle school, with funds designated for the GI GO Fund.
