The malaise surrounding the Comsewogue Lady Warriors soccer performance did not end in August when the summer soccer season concluded. A winless summer season has extended into the fall campaign as Comsewogue is still in search of their first win of 2011.
Following a summer season in which the girls scored but seven times in 11 games, Comsewogue has yet to find the back of the net this fall. The Lady Warriors opened with a 0-0 draw at home against area rival Mt. Sinai then fell 2-0 at Centereach two days later as the Cougars scored a pair of late second half goals to secure the win. The Lady Warriors followed with a tough lost a tough 1-0 loss to Sayville Friday afternoon. All three games were non-league affairs.
Only junior keeper Kim Comstock has cast a redeeming light on Comsewogue’s overall play. Comstock made 20 saves over the three-game span including 11 against Centereach Tuesday afternoon. But the Lady Warriors offense has been a lackluster affair to date.

The Warriors will travel to Deer Park Tuesday afternoon to take on the Falcons for their first league game of the season.
But the surprise of the autumn remains the . Comsewogue traveled to Eastport-South Manor Friday evening and beat up on the Sharks 21-7 to up their record to 2-0.
The Warriors overcame not only a tough ESM team but themselves. On the opening kickoff the Warriors ran for a would-be touchdown only to have it called back for a penalty. But on their next possession the Warriors came right back to score and take a 7-0 lead.
“I think this game said a lot about our team,” said head coach Sean Tremblay. “The offense was productive and the defense was great. The score was 21-7 but really should have 42-7. The defense made three fourth down stops but Eastport-South Manor also hurt themselves by running into our punter twice.”
Anthony Marone keyed the offense with 124 yards on 18 and carries and two touchdowns while the Ryan Keefe to Kenny Scotland combination continued to excel. Keefe complete three of four passes for 71 yards including a 32-yard touchdown strike to Scotland in the second quarter. Scotland ended the day with two catches for 46 yards.
“We’re playing well and we’re winning but we except for a quarter and a half against Bellport in the opening game we haven’t really put everything together,” said Tremblay.
Comsewogue returns home this weekend . This weekend is also Homecoming weekend for the Warriors.
The field hockey team ended the week with a disappointing 5-4 loss to Bay Shore Saturday afternoon. The loss comes on the heels of a 9-0 blowout over Hampton Bays. Bay Shore’s Liz Athing completed the hat trick scoring the eventual winner with 8:52 remaining on the clock beating Warriors goalkeeper Cate Moran (16 saves). Bay Shore had taken a 5-2 lead before the Warriors mounted their short lived comeback.
“We didn’t play our best game,” said Warriors head coach Nicole Kidd. “I would have liked to have beaten them. But Bay Shore is a very talented team and our comeback was too little too late. Hopefully we learned something from it.”
