Teens Accused of Burglarizing Stony Brook Gas Station

Burglary occurred overnight, police say.

Two 18-year-olds were arrested soon after they broke into an auto repair shop/gas station in Stony Brook early Thursday morning, police said.

(removed), and Austin Kennedy, 18, of Stony Brook, were each charged with third degree burglary, police said.

According to police, Sixth Precinct officers responded to Munch Repair Service/Getty Gas Station, located at 999 North Country Road, after being notified by a security company of the activation of a burglary alarm shortly before 4 a.m..

Responding officers initiated a foot pursuit of two men who were seen leaving the premises and (removed) and Kennedy were arrested a short time later, police said.

The proceeds of the burglary, which included mostly tobacco products, were recovered, police said.

(removed) and Kennedy will be held overnight for arraignment Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
