Clinton to Discuss Gun Violence in Port Washington on Monday

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will be in Port Washington on Monday to discuss gun violence with Rep. Steve Israel and family members of people who were killed in recent high-profile mass shootings.

The event, held from 1:45-2:45 p.m., will take place at the Landmark Theater, located at 232 Main St. Doors open at 12:15 p.m.

Clinton and Israel will be joined by Sandy Phillips who lost her daughter in Aurora, Erica Smegielski who lost her mother in Sandy Hook, and Natasha Christopher who lost her son in Brooklyn.

Additionally, Heidi Cruz, the wife of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, will be holding a Meet and Greet in Mineola on Monday from 1-2 p.m. The event will be held at the Long Island Campaign Office, located at 220 Old Country Road. Tickets for Cruz’s event are sold out. More info here.

Clinton will also headline the Suffolk County Democratic Committee's Spring Dinner on Monday at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook. Tickets to that dinner are $300 each and can be purchased here.

The presidential primary election in New York will be held Tuesday, April 19.
