Dejana Foundation Awards Grant to Port Washington Fire Department

The Peter and Jeri Dejana Foundation donated $10,000 to the Port Washington Fire Department for the purchase of life saving equipment. 

In thanking Peter Dejana and Jim Avena of the Dejana Foundation, PWFD Chief Ray Ryan noted that the department was able to aquire 10 state-of-the-art automated external defibrillators, which are used to restore normal heart rhythms for those in cardiac arrest.

Replacing the AEDs previously used by the PWFD, the new devices can save lives of both children and adults. This purchase will benefit the community at no cost to the taxpayer, PWFD officials said.
