Drainage Improvements Set For Beacon Hill Road In Port Washington

This work is expected to take approximately three weeks, officials said.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Port Washington residents can expect drainage improvements to begin, weather permitting, on Wednesday.

The Nassau County Department of Public Works confirmed to Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton’s office that a contractor is expected to begin excavating test holes on Beacon Hill Road from Port Washington Blvd. to Longview Road. Officials said the work is expected to take approximately two to three days, and drainage work is set to begin on Monday, March 30.

The drainage work will be along the same stretch of road and is expected to take approximately three weeks, officials said.

DeRiggi-Whitton thanked Port Washington residents for their understanding and patience during these drainage improvements.

"With springtime fast approaching, the change in the weather will allow Nassau County to resume vital projects that preserve our quality of life and keep our communities safe," she said.
