Erin Betsch of Port Washington Graduates Summa Cum Laude From Marist College

Also receives honors as scholar athlete and receives General Excellence Award.

Erin Betsch of Port Washington has graduated Summa Cum Laude from Marist College, with a BA degree from the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Betsch majored in psychology and special education. She also received the General Excellence Award from Marist.

A top defender of Marist’s women’s lacrosse team, the Red Foxes, Betsch was named to the CoSIDA/Capital One First Team, which consists of deserving scholar athletes from numerous sports across all divisions.

According to Marist’s official athletic website, Betsch “appeared in 13 games, and made 11 starts. She finished the season tied for second on the team with 14 ground balls, and also totaled 16 ground balls and 16 draw controls.”

As a member of the Red Foxes, Betsch was instrumental in Marist’s first tournament team in 2010. According to the team website, she ”started all 18 of the team's games, and was third on the Red Foxes with 18 caused turnovers to go along 24 ground balls, eight draw controls and an assist.”

A graduate of Schreiber High School in 2007, Betsch first played lacrosse for Davidson College in Charlotte, North Carolina, before transferring to Marist.
