Food, Vendors, Fun Along the Waters at HarborFest 2016
The 26th Annual HarborFest Dock and Day Craft Fair will be held Sunday in Port Washington.
Residents are invited to join the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce in celebrating the town’s nautical heritage along the shores and in the waters of Manhasset Bay during the 26th Annual HarborFest Dock and Day Craft Fair on Sunday.
The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Town Dock and lower Main Street in Port Washington.
The purpose of this event is to raise public awareness of the need to protect and preserve our local waters. Admission to the fair is free, except for a fee for the cruises.

What to do at HarborFest: (scroll down below for the complete schedule of events)
- Browse and buy crafts from hundreds of local merchant booths along the Town Dock.
- Choose between popular festival food and selections from Port’s finest restaurants at the Food Court area.
- SoundWaters Offers Sunset, Day Sails During HarborFest
- Go out on the Bay aboard the schooner SoundWaters (at 12, 2 or 4 p.m.), the Port Washington Water Taxi or go kayaking.
- The Children’s Fun Park will offer activities for young kids, including a stage with a talent show, a train ride, photo booth, games, crafts, hands-on science fun, sports, a treasure hunt and the model boat regatta.
- Check out the Port Washington Fire Department’s Fire Boat which will be demonstrated during the day.
- The Enviro-Expo will offer educational exhibits by many Long Island organizations. This year’s school environmental program is “Our Plastic World: Recycling is Not the Answer,” which is organized and taught by Patti Wood of Grassroots Environmental Education.
- The “Pride of Cow Bay Tugboat” nautical museum will unveil a new exhibit of photos by Tab Hauser called “The Water’s Edge.”
- Entertainment at the Tugboat is provided by the nautical singing group, “Stout” and encore performances by the cast of the “Red Stocking Revue,” plus performances by World Tae Kwon Do, Coda Bay Band, the Wright Brothers and The Fred Astaire Dance Studio.
- Art in the Park will return with displays and free workshops.
Residents can travel to and from the festival with rides on the BID trolley and shuttle busses from the LIRR station and Manorhaven Park.
