Former Sands Point Doctor Convicted of Rape May Have Tampered With Jury: Report
The former psychiatrist is also on trial for allegedly selling prescriptions for addictive drugs to patients for cash.

An unlicensed psychiatrist from Sands Point who was convicted Monday of raping one of his patients in 2012 may have tried to interfere with the jury, according to a report by Newsday.
Marshall Hubsher, 66, was found guilty of third-degree rape and third-degree criminal sex act in Nassau County Court.
In 2012, Hubsher reportedly engaged in sexual relations with a 32-year-old female patient during a treatment session for depression in his Flower Hill office.

Hubscher is also on trial for allegedly selling prescriptions for addictive drugs to patents for cash.
He also may face jury-tampering charges after a source told Newsday that Hubsher entered the Mineola courthouse holding papers, left without the papers and returned a short time later in a different outfit to attend his trial.

The Newsday report says notes found in jury rooms, which gave examples of reasonable doubt (such as a motive to lie, financial gain, mental illness and more,) were found shortly after Hubsher was seen on video footage leaving the courthouse without the papers. Patch reached out to a representative from the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office who was unable to confirm if the reports were true. The representative was also unable to comment on whether or not a jury-tampering investigation was underway.
