Man Robs Roslyn Heights Bank

The robbery occurred Tuesday morning.

Police are searching for a man who robbed a Roslyn Heights bank Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, the man entered First National Bank of Long Island, located at 130 Mineola Avenue, and demanded money from a teller at 9:42 a.m.

The robber told the teller he had a gun, but no weapon was displayed, police said.

He fled on foot eastbound on Villa Place with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The five employees and one customer inside the bank at the time of the robbery were uninjured.

Police described the robber as in his 30s, 5-foot-11 and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
