Mpower 2017 – LI’s Mother/Daughter Empowerment Event – This Saturday!
Learn strategies. Leave Mpowered.

It’s happening this Saturday, March 11th from 9am-1pm at LIU Post in Brookville, NY. Mpower, the annual event for girls in 4th through 8th grades and their moms, provides strategies and skills for navigating today’s world, and helping girls develop into strong, confident women.
A Mighty Lass, the organizer of Mpower, is thrilled to announce that due to the generous sponsorship of Morgan Stanley and Northwell Health ticket prices have been reduced to $50 per person.
The world can be tough on girls. When they hit middle school, 7 out of 10 girls believe that they are not good enough or don’t measure up in some way, including their looks, performance in school and relationships with friends and family members. Evidence shows that to succeed, confidence matters as much as competence.

“This event is the education your daughter is not getting in school,” says A Mighty Lass co-founder, Emma Brandt. “Girls are losing confidence in themselves when they are as young as 6 years old! I have seen it in my own daughter. It is important that we take the time to give girls the tools that they need to strong, confident, kind and powerful!”
Mpower's half-day event includes talks by nationally renowned speakers, interactive workshops, educational panels, and motivational movement. Attendees will learn empowerment strategies from keynotes speakers such as Michelle Poler, who faced 100 fears in 100 days, Nancy Jo Sales, New York Times best-selling author of “American Girls: Social Media and the Secret Life of Teenagers,” and 23-year old Kaley Young, who created She Taught, a Pro Kindness workshop for girls teaching them the life lessons that her mother taught her.
