New Look, New Programs for Port Washington's Parent Resource Center

Find out what new programs and amenities the community organization is offering.

The Parent Resource Center in Port Washington is getting a new look for its 35-year anniversary.

The community organization has raised over $50,000 to renovate its Landmark on Main Street location.

The building will get new classrooms, playspaces and a parents’ lounge with coffee and wifi internet.

The funds were raised through private donations, fundraisers and grants procured by Leila Noor, local Port mom and the PRC’s Director of Development.

Besides the new look, the PRC is now offering new classes and programs, including:

  • Toddler Favorites: Abrakadoodle, Bricks4Kids, Pio Pio Spanish School, Music Together and Tiger Tennis
  • New revamped favorites: music, art lab, science fun, movement, ABCs + 123s and more
  • For members only: organized playgroups, after-school tutoring, and daily afternoon drop-in open play
  • Parent University sessions: sleep training for infants, sleep training for toddlers and navigating your relationship after kids.

The nonprofit’s Director of Operations, Shelly Persaud, a local Port parent has been working overtime to help facilitate these changes.
