Port Washington Students Go The Extra Healthy Mile
Daly Elementary recently launched a recess running club called the Daly Dashers.

Fourth-and fifth-graders at Daly Elementary School recently participated in a two-mile “tune up” run in advance of the Port Washington Thanksgiving Day Run.
To increase fitness at the school, Daly Elementary recently launched a recess running club called the Daly Dashers. Students have been running during recess, and the school has kept track of their distances through the Mighty Milers program, supported by the New York Road Runners Club.

During the recent “tune up” run, administrators, faculty and students wore their Daly Dashers t-shirts and ran laps promoting health and wellness. At its conclusion, individual student awards, as well as class awards, were distributed.
