Schreiber Finishes Second in Syosset Track Meet
Vikings finish in second place behind Oceanside, but ahead of third- and fourth-place Herricks and Syosset.
It was a close one for coach Christopher Baker and assistant coach Joe Simeone's Port Washington boys track team at a cold and windy Syosset High School on Tuesday. The Vikings came in second place in the four-team meet. They finished with 74 points, 15 short of a victorious Oceanside team.
In perhaps the closest race of the afternoon, the Vikings finished second in the 4 x 100 meter relay race. They finished third in the 4 x 400 meter relay.
The 3,200 meter race saw Port Washington finish first, exemplifying speed and dominance all the way through. The team had quality finishes in the 400 meter race, coming in both second and third in the four-man heat.
