The Place To Be On Super Bowl Sunday

Of the 10-plus bars in Port Washington, only one will be having a special celebration for Super Bowl XLIV. Sullivan's Quay, on Port Washington Boulevard, will be having drink specials, giveaways and a complimentary halftime buffet for all patrons who visit the bar on gameday.

In addition to offering a six-foot hero, hot dogs, buffalo wings and penne alla vodka during the game, the drink specials include Coronas for $4.50 and $3 shots. Free T-shirts, hats and party favors will be given out as well. Football fans at the bar will also get the opportunity to win raffle prizes like NFL footballs and a grill that is perfect for tailgating. Winners of those prizes will be announced at the end of the game.

Sullivan's Quay owner Brian Barry said he's been celebrating Super Bowl Sunday since he first opened the bar 11 years ago. "It's a tradition," he said. "I started this a long time ago. It's one of those things that I can continue."

Many locals have plans elsewhere, but Sullivan's Quay is the place to be on Super Bowl Sunday according to many Port Washington residents. "I won't be able to come to Sullivan's Quay tomorrow because I'm going to my friend's Super Bowl Party," said George Anderson, who was at the restaurant and bar with his family. "But it sounds like people are going to have a good time. I wish I could be there."
