Time Travelers: Family Tours inside Hempstead House

Step back in history to the Gatsby Era at the Guggenheim Estate, where membership helps support the site's buildings and grounds.

Discover the fascinating people who inhabited or visited historic Hempstead House, a Gold Coast mansion at Sands Point Preserve, on Saturday, March 19. That’s when children and their caregivers can enjoy guided tours of 10 magnificent rooms inside historic Hempstead House.

The tours will also include activities and challenges, including timelines, toys of the period, word finds, maps, and photographs.

Time Traveler Tours are offered at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The tours are recommended for ages 4 and up.

Admission is $5 per person. Parking is $10 per car or free with Membership Pass.

Pre-registration is required. Families are encouraged to register early, as space is strictly limited for each tour. E-mail info@friendsspp.org, and include the names, ages and number of children, and preferred session.

Friends of the Sands Point Preserve is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to protect and preserve the 216-acre waterfront grounds and historic mansions and to provide a range of cultural arts events and educational programs for families and schools in the Phil Dejana Learning Center and Outdoor Classroom.
