Varsity Volleyball Sweeps Herricks in Home Opener
Senior tri-captains lead way in Schreiber volleyball's second straight three-game sweep.

Following up on the team's three-game sweep of Farmingdale on the road in the team's season opener, the Schreiber varsity volleyball team swept Herricks in its home opener on Friday.
After handily winning the first game, 25-15, the Vikings took the second two by identical 25-22 scores.
Senior tri-captains Adam Epstein, Dan Bernstein and Sung Kim led the way according to coach Maria Giamanco. Epstein and Bernstein combined for 25 kills, 15 and 10 respectively, and Kim had 27 assists during the three-game set.

Despite two dominating performances, the veterans on the team say there's still more work to be done.
"We're feeling pretty good coming off two wins," Bernstein said. "There were points in the game where our offense looked real solid. However, both our defense and service from the line needs more work."

Epstein added, "We were a little sloppy with our execution, but I never doubted our team. Our work ethic alone in practice and games can win matches for us."
The Vikings will be back on the court on Tuesday, April 13, when they head to Uniondale for a league match starting at 4:45 p.m.
