Hazardous Substance At Foster-Laurie School: 11 Hurt, Says FDNY
Emergency responders rushed to the Foster-Laurie Elementary School Thursday morning to treat 11 victims of an unknown substance, said FDNY.

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — Eleven people were injured by a “strong smelling” hazardous material in a public elementary school Thursday morning, said officials.
Emergency responders rushed to the third floor of Public School 397 at 490 Fenimore St. around 10:30 a.m. where a hazmat situation had been reported, said an FDNY spokesman.
Ten victims were treated at the Foster-Laurie Elementary School and another was taken to Kings County Hospital in unknown condition, FDNY said.

The fumes were caused by a truck parked outside and its victims were not students, according to a school official who answered the phone.
