Crown Heights Water Main Break Forces Evacuations

The water main broke on Pacific Street in Crown Heights early Thursday morning, said the FDNY

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN --- Fifty people were forced to evacuate their homes after an enormous water main broke on Pacific Street Thursday morning, said the FDNY.

Emergency responders rushed to 1520 Pacific St. near Albany Avenue around 4:30 a.m. when a water main burst and left the streets flooded with water, said the FDNY.

The water was turned off in the area and firefighters had the situation under control by around 8:10 a.m., said an FDNY spokesman.

There were no injuries reported, said the FDNY.
