Live Music: March 12, 2015, 8pm-12am, The Way Station, 683 Washington Ave, BK, http://waystationbk.blogspot.com/ $5 suggested donation

8pm- Alyssa Robbins
Genre: Folk Rock
For fans of: Aimee Mann, Patti Griffin, Pink

With the recent release of her third studio album, “Our Time Was Here We Just Forgot to Be”, Robbins makes a rockier departure from her first two albums (“Wet Behind the Ears” & “The Other Side of the World”). She growls and snarls her way through stories of haunted Brooklyn streets, changing seasons, and a lovers insanity all with a touch of sensitivity and heart ache. With the lyrical prose of Aimee Mann and the voice of Etta James, “Our Time was Here…” provides the perfect balance of whiskey swigging rock and gin sipping soul.

For fans of: Chicha Libre, Destellos, Juaneco y su Combo

MONECO is a band with a driving force and a new voice in the New York City music scene. They mix the edgy sound of one of the most musically diverse cities in the world with the traditional psychedelic cumbia sound of South America. When you hear it you will have no doubt as to why MONECO is referred to as “New York Cumbiadelic.”

“Moneco nailed the alternately spiky and spacy licks that make this stuff (Cumbia) so much fun…)

Soul’D Out NYC is a nine piece band featuring vocalist Aliah Sheffield on vocals. It was created in December 2011 by French Pianist and band leader Olivier Court.

Through original compositions and arrangements, our purpose is to bring back to life a certain type of sound from the late 60′s early 70′s Soul, Jazz and Gospel.
