Last Chance to Register for Fall Art Classes at the Brooklyn Museum

Registration is now open for the fall semester of the Gallery/Studio Program. Come expand your creativity and sharpen your art skills inspired by our collection. Join an art class and experience unique art-making activities while exploring our special exhibitions Proof: Francisco Goya, Sergei Eisenstein, Robert Longo or unraveling the mysteries of ancient burial grounds in Soulful Creatures: Animal Mummies in Ancient Egypt.

Art classes are open to all ages. Fall classes meet Saturday or Sundays and are two hours each. Take a sneak peek at some of our classes below and register now!

Ages 6–7

Sculpture, Animal Mummies, and You

Saturdays, 10:30 am–12:30 pm

Get to know our collection of animal mummies inside and out! Use paint markers and transparencies to make X-ray–inspired drawings. Then use paper, wire, and muslin to create your own sculptures based on this ancient Egyptian tradition.

Ages 8–10

Draw It Big!

Sundays, 10:30 am–12:30 am

Have you ever wanted to make a really big drawing? See Robert Longo’s larger-than-life drawings based on the world around him. Then, practice new techniques to create your own monumental works of charcoal on paper.

Ages 11–13

Portfolio Development: Sculpture

Saturdays, 1:30–3:30 pm

Push your art-making skills to the third dimension. Learn how to use paper, chipboard, and wood to construct models that demonstrate balance, proportion, and rhythm. Build your portfolio with unique sculptures that are sure to impress any art school.
